- Verify the request by calling the sender using a phone number on file or obtained from an independent source, such as the company's official website. Do not use phone numbers provided in the email request.
- Implement two-factor authentication for fund transfers and require secondary approval from another company employee for any changes in vendor payment location.
- Contact the wire department of the originating bank to confirm the legitimacy of the request.
What to Do if You Suspect Wire Fraud
If you believe you may be a victim of wire fraud:
